Charleston Material Recovery Facility Complex

This new environmental management services development is designed to accommodate county EMD administrative offices, public education center, truck scales, and facilities for a 57-vehicle collection fleet including employee facilities, vehicle maintenance building, fuel island and fleet parking.

The 65,000 sf complex will be constructed on a 22-acre site located on Palmetto Commerce Parkway, North Charleston, South Carolina.

The driveway design separates bus/pedestrian from truck access to create safe entry points to the education center. In addition to grading, erosion control and a storm water drainage system designed in accordance with SCDHEC and the City of North Charleston Department of Public Works regulations and standards, the site design includes a building service line tied into a gravity sanitary sewer collection system. The landscaping plan accommodates easement constraints from three major utility transmission lines on the property and includes native pollinator species for trees, shrubs, and grasses.

We are excited to be working with City of North Charleston, Charleston County, SCDHEC – OCRM, FreeseJohnson, and Pieper O’Brien Herr Architects.

2019 Annual Staff Retreat

All Aboard for Cozumel!

It’s a Contineo tradition to take time off for our annual leadership staff retreat – while cruising the seas with our families.

This important time away together lays the groundwork for the year ahead. We focus on strategic planning for the coming year, brainstorm ways to make our client service better than ever, and share in-depth “shop talk.”

It’s also a time to review and acknowledge the excellent work our team has accomplished, and to recharge and optimize our team dynamic . . . with a little bit of beach time, delicious food, relaxation, and fun sprinkled in.

Our time away from the office proves, year after year, to be one of the most powerful ways we create our vibrant company culture. And the results will be clear as 2020 unfolds. Stay tuned!

See more of our travels on Facebook.

2017 – Contineo Group Employee Event – Six Flags Over Georgia

Employees came out with their families at our summer corporate event at Six Flags Over Georgia. Everyone had a blast riding roller coasters, water sliding and eating tons of hotdogs (we did recommend that folks eat AFTER they rode the coasters!!!). BONUS: Our Flash Passes meant no waiting in long lines!

2017 – Contineo Group Corporate Retreat – Mexico

Who says you can’t conduct serious business on a cruise ship! We held our annual corporate retreat on a cruise that took us from Jacksonville, Fla., to Key West and Cozumel, Mexico. We participated in daily presentations by Contineo leadership on various company items, along with workshops designed to refine the corporate culture and mission statements we created during our 2016 corporate retreat. When we weren’t focusing on weighty business issues, we enjoyed visiting the Hemingway House in Key West, and the local dining, mopeds, beaches and shopping that Cozumel offered. Shipboard entertainment included karaoke, dancing, casinos, game shows, theater, comedy shows and relaxing on the deck.

2016 – Contineo Group Corporate Retreat – Bahamas

We do like cruising! Our 2016 corporate retreat was conducted on a cruise from Miami to the Bahamas. In addition to daily presentations, we formalized our culture and mission statements. The sea was rough so we didn’t stop at Freeport; however, we visited Nassau and enjoyed the nightlife (which is unusual for ships to let their passengers stay during the night time). We made the most of our ship’s amenities, however, including karaoke, dancing, the casino and the food!
